Superfast Worcestershire are encouraging businesses and residents to check their broadband status in 2019 as 7 structures have already received new broadband so far, with updates received in Upton Snodsbury, Tenbury Wells, Stourport, Kidderminster and Bewdley.
The best way to check the live service is to use BT’s speed checker here. To use the checker, either enter a BT telephone number (including area code) or an address (click the link below the number box.) Superfast colleagues from the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Broadband project have put together a very handy ‘How to use the BT Line Checker‘ guide, which will help businesses and individuals to make sense of the DSL Checker results.
Individuals will need to upgrade to a superfast broadband package through their chosen ISP to take advantage of infrastructure upgrades that have been made available.
Businesses can also consider the Gigabit Voucher scheme, which can be used by SMEs and the local communities surrounding them to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit-capable connection. Businesses can claim up to £2,500 against the cost of connection either individually or as part of a group project. Residents can benefit from the scheme with a voucher worth £500 as part of a group project.
So far in Worcestershire, there have been issued nearly 150 vouchers worth £323,000.
If you are not yet able to receive a superfast service, please register with Superfast Worcestershire here.
