The Rt. Hon. Sajid Javid MP, will be endorsing World Class Worcestershire when it showcases at MIPIM UK 2015.
The Business Secretary, whose constituency is Bromsgrove, Worcestershire is scheduled to make a short welcome speech to delegates visiting the World Class Worcestershire Business Showcase.
The prestigious 45 minute Showcase, which will take place at 4.45pm on Wednesday 21 October, will look at how Worcestershire has become the third fastest county economy in recent years.
The backing of Sajid Javid MP will only help to bolster Worcestershire’s offering as a strong contender for development from both national and foreign investors. Case studies that will be referenced include the current development of Worcestershire’s game changer site, Worcester Six Business Park. Currently being developed by Worcestershire based Stofords, it has been named as the best undeveloped site between Worcester and Bristol.
Gary Woodman, Executive Director at Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “MIPIM UK provides the ideal opportunity to promote Worcestershire as being the perfect place to invest. We are pleased that Rt Hon. Sajid Javid MP will be joining us in promoting Worcestershire’s world class offer of business location, infrastructure and quality of life to investors.”
Alongside the Business Showcase, World Class Worcestershire has its own exhibition stand which is located at J20 within the exhibition hall at Olympia, London.
The World Class Worcestershire stand will be manned by World Class Worcestershire partners who represent the county and who include: Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP), Worcestershire County Council (WCC) and district councils.
Councillor Simon Geraghty, Cabinet Member for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure, said: “Worcestershire is a great location for business as it is well connected with a skilled labour supply and has key sites ready for development. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase what Worcestershire has to offer on the national and international stage and to have the Secretary of State championing the cause.”
To help promote Worcestershire, the stand will have its very own Morgan Car and there is even a competition to win one for the day.
