Businesses are being invited to attend a FindItInWorcestershire breakfast meeting with the designers and constructors of Worcestershire Parkway Station, Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd from 6:45am – 9:30am on 20 June 2017.
Worcestershire County Council has appointed Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd to construct the new Worcestershire Parkway Regional Interchange with a completion date set for Winter 2018-19. The scheme for the station, close to junction 7 on the M5, is worth £22m and construction will begin on the project in autumn.
Buckingham Group will build a single platform on the Cotswold Line and two platforms on the Birmingham to Bristol Line, with the council promising to deliver “a fully accessible modern station building” including a 500 capacity car park and easy access to onward transport routes via local bus services with a bus/rail interchange.
The scheme is a high priority for Worcestershire County Council, the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP), Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and Worcestershire District Councils, so FinditinWorcestershire is giving businesses the chance to hear from Buckingham Group about the design plans and build details.
The specialist rail contractor will be on hand to talk to local businesses about its supply chain opportunities, and give information about becoming a supplier or sub-contractor.
