Businesses invited to #CYBERSOCIAL Cyber Security Event

Local businesses are being invited to attend the first #CYBERSOCIAL security event in Birmingham on Thursday 3 May, hosted by Right Time Recruitment.

The event is designed to bring cyber and non-cyber professionals together to share and discuss ideas on current cyber affairs. Linda Smith, from the Midlands Cyber team, will be attending and speaking about the development of the local region’s cyber advantage.

#CYBERSOCIAL will feature talks by industry professionals regarding cyber security threats, GDPR and other current cyber security related topics. The remaining speakers at the event are from CyberQ Group, Innovation Birmingham and Haines Watts.

The speakers will be discussing the following topics with the overall aim to discuss the importance of Cyber Security and Technology hubs within the Midlands:

  • Chris Woods, CyberQ Group: ‘Cyber Threat Actors and the Dark Net’
  • Linda Smith, Midlands Cyber: ‘Expanding the Region’s Cyber Advantage’
  • Cliff Dennett, Innovation Birmingham: ‘The Challenge for the UK’s Entrepreneurs, The Opportunities for Birmingham and How Innovation Birmingham Can Help’
  • Steven Connors, Haines Watts: ‘GDPR – A Blessing or a Burden?’

This free event will take place from 5.30pm-8.30pm at The Colmore Club. Businesses will be able to enjoy complimentary refreshments and expand networks with like-minded industry professionals.
