Businesses invited to attend the Worcestershire Innovation Wednesday for Tourism

Worcestershire businesses are being invited to attend the upcoming Worcestershire Innovation Wednesday on 16 September.

This session, which will focus on Tourism, follows on from the success of the Worcestershire Innovation Wednesday for International Opportunities which was fully subscribed with 228 businesses attending on the night.

The session will run from 5.30pm – 8:30pm on 16 September at Spring Grove House, West Midland Safari Park and businesses are being urged to secure their place.

‘Worcestershire Innovation Wednesdays’, which are held each month to showcase innovation across Worcestershire, present new developments and opportunities as well as provide an opportunity for like-minded business people to network. The sessions provide a space for businesses and experts to come together to share ideas and thoughts about innovation and creativity with guest speakers providing specialist insight.

Worcestershire Innovation Wednesday was initiated by QinetiQ, the experts in defence, aerospace and security, the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and Worcestershire County Council.

Places are limited and businesses are being encouraged to register at the earliest opportunity for the next sessions, each of which has a different focus:

  • Tourism: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on September 16, 2015 at West Midland Safari Park, Kidderminster.
  • The Art of Bidding for Funding: starting at 5:30pm on 21 October, 2015 in Kidderminster (venue tbc).

Future dates for the diary for this year include: 11 November and 9 December.

Keith Mowbray, Strategic Business Development Director of QinetiQ Ltd, added: “We aim to continue to bolster the innovation of the county’s businesses through Worcestershire Innovation Wednesdays. It is clear that local businesses are finding success through these informative events, as seen with the high attendance at the International Opportunities meeting.

“I would strongly encourage Worcestershire businesses to continue to involve themselves in these innovation showcases and to register at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.”

Gary Woodman, Executive Director of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “It was great to see hundreds of local businesses in attendance at the previous Worcestershire Innovation Wednesday on International Opportunities. The free-to-attend innovation events are really benefitting businesses of all sizes, by providing them with an in-depth insight into business opportunities with like-minded individuals.”

“I would urge local businesses to register as quickly as possible for the Tourism event on Wednesday 16 September as well as future sessions.”
