Businesses invited to Low Carbon Opportunities Conference

Local businesses are being invited to attend The Low Carbon Opportunities Programme Conference to learn more about their success to date and what is to come as the programme rolls forward.

The programme is holding a conference on the 24 September to celebrate the success, hear from many of these companies and also to look ahead to the new programme which will launch in the autumn. Businesses are being invited to join the Low Carbon Team at 10am at the Pear Tree Inn in Worcester.

The Low Carbon Opportunities Programme has now given grants of over £600,000 to businesses in Worcestershire, and renewable energy systems generating over 1MW have been installed. These systems and the large scale energy efficient technologies which have also been installed will save over 1,000 tonnes of carbon every year from being produced.

The low carbon economy in Worcestershire is also thriving, with 20 businesses working on innovative low carbon technologies. It is these technologies which are going to help further reduce carbon emissions around the world in the future. Many of these SMEs have received grants to support their work.
