Last month’s Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Expo (October 2015), in association with Hewett Recruitment, hosted over 800 visitors through the doors, a record number of breakfast attendees and exhibitors.
240 people attended the Networking Breakfast at 8.30am where they heard from the keynote speaker, Simon Gibson, Chairman of the Alacrity Foundation and Chief Executive of Wesley Clover Corporation. Simon captivated and inspired the audience by speaking about the importance of technology and innovation for the country’s future generation.
Louise Hewett officially opened the event at the Three Counties Showground, after which visitors were free to network and explore the 120 stand exhibition where a variety of Herefordshire and Worcestershire businesses were represented as well as the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership. The busy atmosphere was maintained throughout the day and many exhibitors added fun and innovative elements to their stands. This year‘s Chamber challenge proved very popular, with many visitors competing to test their reactions and win one of five prizes, the first being a Gtech vacuum.
The programme of talks delivered by the Malvern Festival of Innovation was well attended, as was the Apprentice’s Lunch. The Networking Zone, sponsored by SME Solicitors, was always a lively hub of activity, with free tea and coffee provided by Water Cooler World throughout the day.
John Painter, Managing Partner at CB, Chartered Accountants and Chairman of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce commented: “It was a great day with a good atmosphere and a good footfall. The positioning of our stand was excellent and we were able to make some new contacts.”
Andrea Borwell-Fox, Director at Borwell Ltd and Vice President of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce also commented: “Great atmosphere, an excellent key note speaker and an interesting mix of visitors to the stand – 2016 date’s already in my diary!”
Future Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce 2016 Expos will take place on Thursday 3 March and Thursday 6 October.
