Choose Worcestershire for your HQ!

We were delighted to have recently been recognised as one of England’s top ten Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in terms of foreign direct investment strategy by the fDi Intelligence division of the Financial Times. This is good news for Worcestershire and helps to ‘set out our stall’ in terms of attracting inward investment to the county.

Earlier in the month we had some other good news from Morgan Advanced Materials who had decided to set up a new Centre of Excellence in Stourport-on-Severn.  With a choice of sites in other locations – the USA, Germany and China – Morgan plumped for Worcestershire, UK.

You will be aware that the county is home to many leading national and  international brands.   Halfords, Worcester Bosch, GKN, Sanctuary Housing, Yamazaki Mazak, NPower, to name but a few, have all decided to locate their headquarters here.  The county’s transport infrastructure, availability of motivated and well qualified staff and relatively inexpensive property are all cited as reasons for locating in Worcestershire.

There is, however, still plenty of room and we are very keen for other businesses to choose Worcestershire as the location for their headquarters.

The LEP’s inward investment strategy, written with key stakeholders and partners in the County Council, the 6 District Councils, University, Chamber of Commerce and others and with the on-going support of local MPs, strives to develop the Worcestershire ‘offering’.  By attracting new businesses, Worcestershire’s economy will be strengthened, thereby increasing opportunities for us all.
