Creating the Rail Infrastructure to support businesses

Businesses are being invited to attend an important half-day conference on local rail infrastructure on Friday 12 February, 2016.

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership is working with all partner organisations to raise awareness of the business benefits of re-doubling the Cotswold Line. The Worcestershire LEP has already allocated £7.5 million from the Worcestershire Growth Deal towards the new Parkway Station which, when built, will build more capacity and allow more services to reach Worcestershire.

The re-doubling of the Cotswold Line would enable a frequent and regular under 2 hours train service from London to Worcestershire and connect the County to other major cities.

The conference will help to build the case for better local and long distance services on the North Cotswolds Railway Line including to and from London and Heathrow and will take place from 09.00 to 14.00 at Witney Lakes Resort, Witney, OX29 0SY.

Places for the conference are limited and must be booked in advance. Lord Richard Faulkner will chair the event and attendees will be addressed by a special guest. A light lunch will also be provided.

Put your business first and voice your business needs for a better railway:

  • Easier access to a better rail service means better business; increasing economic activity, supporting recruitment and retention and bringing international and regional markets within easy reach
  • Less than 20% of tourists venture outside London – a great rail service, marketed alongside the great North Cotswolds could increase visitor numbers to Oxford, Worcester and Hereford and the surrounding areas.

The invitation to the half-day conference can be viewed here.

Register your attendance before 8 February by visiting the Cotswold Rail event page
