Worcestershire LEP will invest: £4m
As a key employment location in the County and one of our gamechanger sites, an expanded Malvern Hills Science Park will have a very positive impact on the economic growth of Worcestershire.
The Worcestershire LEP has, therefore, agreed to invest £4m of funding from the Growth Deal for the development of Phase 5 of the site.
The recently completed 30,000 sq.ft. Phase 4, which was due to £3.5m of investment from Worcestershire County Council alongside £370,000 from Malvern Hills District Council, is now also the new home for current tenants UTC Aerospace Systems. This new building in Phase 5 will now provide 16,000 sq.ft. of floor space which will be available to new companies or existing tenants seeking to grow their businesses.
Home to the National Cyber Skills Centre, the UK’s only e-skills UK accredited centre of cyber security excellence, Malvern is already one of the primary locations in the UK for research, development and commercialisation of cyber security products and services.
Expanding Malvern Hills Science Park will encourage businesses from the technology, cyber security and IT sectors to join this significant cyber cluster and allow the creation of more cyber security jobs in a high-priority growth sector.
The Malvern Hills Science Park will also benefit further from other infrastructure developments, for example, improved journey times to the site through the Southern Link Road improvements.
