Description – The Redditch Rail Quarter and Interchange is one of 5 schemes that underpin the Redditch prospectus for growth that set out the ambition to reinvent Redditch as a vibrant town centre in Worcestershire, and capable of supporting the growth of the Combined Authority area providing key transport access from Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
Awarded Funding – £1m
- Provides immediate potential to increase services from 3 to 4 trains per hour, and in due course up to 6 trains per hour.
- Investment in land and business case demonstrates strategic intent to the Town master plan, and provides a focus to encourage wider market investment.
- Direct links to the wider West Midland Rail investment strategy and positions Redditch station as an integral part of the Cross-City Line in Birmingham. One of the main commuter and wider transport links across the West Midlands.
