Wychavon-based businesses are being invited to enter Wychavon District Council’s 2016 Intelligently Green Awards, which are backed by headline sponsor Rooftop Housing Group.
Jane Dobson, Wychavon’s Economic Development Officer, who’s involved in organising the awards explains: “Our Intelligently Green Awards are about celebrating local green projects and activities that also benefit the community or save money. This year two of the five award categories are specifically for small businesses, larger businesses and public sector organisations.”
“The awards are a great way for businesses to promote the work they do, as well as find out about other green initiatives in Wychavon. Winning businesses or organisations will receive recognition for their project, a lovely award, and plenty of free publicity through print, online and social media channels, as well as branding to use on emails, letters and other materials.”
The event will be hosted by impressionist and actor Alistair McGowan. Evesham born Alistair is an ambassador to WWF-UK, part of the global World Wide Fund for Nature, and campaigns on a number of environmental issues.
To mark the launch of the awards Wychavon has produced a short, fun film to highlight the kind of things that are intelligent and the things that are green in Wychavon. To watch the film go to the Intelligently Green webpage or visit the WychavonVideo YouTube account.
The deadline for entries is 22 April and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Pershore College’s new sustainable building on the evening of Friday 17 June.
