EU Grant Funding for SMEs

Businesses are being invited to attend the EU Grant Funding for SMEs Conference on Friday 16 October, 10am – 3pm at the Malvern Hills District Council Chamber.

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership is encouraging local businesses to attend the conference, hosted by the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, which will include a full programme of speakers to explain how, why and where to apply for EU funding as well as information on how to use the grants to grow your business. Businesses will also have time for networking, questions and answers and refreshments and lunch.

Rt Hon. Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills, will be the keynote speaker at the event and other speakers at the conference include: Harriet Baldwin MP, Mike Ashton – CEO of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Paul Tranter – CEO of Pera Technology, Tony O’Donnell – CEO of Smart Actuator Company CEO, Linda Smith – Head of International Trade of UKTI, Darmian Glover – Director of Santander Corporate Banking, Sian Mitchell – grant application writer at SMISH, Anthea MacIntyre MEP and Daniel Dalton MEP.

The conference will focus on two phases of EU funding. In Phase 1, approximately 10,000 EU SMEs will receive €50,000 in EU Grant Funding by 2020 and in Phase 2, approximately 2,000 EU SMEs will receive up to €2.5million as part of Research and Innovation Funding called Horizon 2020.

Three Worcestershire and Herefordshire businesses have already achieved Phase 2 funding and the conference will discuss how one of these three businesses has already achieved success.
