Prestigious fine foods company, Harvey & Brockless, has relocated some of its production and storage facilities from London to Worcestershire, following support from the Worcestershire Growth Fund.
The fund is a capital grant scheme financed by the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership through the Government’s Growth Deal and delivered by Worcestershire County Council to support the growth of businesses based in Worcestershire.
Harvey & Brockless, a supplier of speciality foods to a nationwide network of customers, was able to invest in new centrally-located production and storage facilities as a result of the fund, consequently increasing its production capabilities and access to its customer base in the market.
Harvey & Brockless invested a total of £128,083 as part of the scheme and received grant funding of £99,822 from Worcestershire Growth Fund. As part of the relocation to Worcestershire, the company will also be creating 41 new jobs at its food production factory.
Nick Martin, Managing Director of Harvey & Brockless, said: “The relocation of some of our storage and production facilities to the well-connected, central location of Worcestershire will enable us to reach new customers more effectively, increase production capacity and ultimately lead to greater turnover.
The food industry is continually seeking new and innovative ways to develop new products and processes and our new facility in Evesham enables us to accommodate the expansion of our growing business with access to a skilled workforce required for innovative product development.”
Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, added: “Harvey & Brockless are just one of many businesses who have benefitted by relocating their operations into Worcestershire.
“The County’s central location and transport connectivity by road and rail makes it an ideal location for expanding businesses. We are seeing a number of businesses thrive as a result of investing in the County, with the room available to create more jobs and the business support on offer to boost productivity like the Worcestershire Growth Fund.”
Cllr Dr Ken Pollock, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure at Worcestershire County Council, added: “It is fantastic to see that expanding businesses like Harvey & Brockless are benefitting from the support available within the county.
“This is a great example of how Worcestershire is a World Class location for accommodating expanding businesses and enabling them to realise their plans for growth.”
