Festival to help your business grow and succeed

The annual Malvern Festival of Innovation returns 7-12 October 2019, this year highlighting amongst other subjects how to position your business to grow using best practice in an age of digitalisation and the knowledge-based economy.

The Business of Innovating session on Wednesday 9 October 2019 in the Coach House Theatre, Great Malvern, will include a series of conversations about coping with changes in your business operations as the organisation scales.

Vicky Young, COO of business mix, will chat with Graham Dodgson about commercial aspects of IP including how to develop a strategy that will help with licensing and business acquisition.

Hilarie Owen, one of the world’s leading experts and influencers on leadership will be speaking about boardroom issues such as trust, the environment, privacy, shareholder accountability and diversity, and how today’s leaders can navigate and succeed.

The authors of Alive: Digital Humans and their Organisations, Paul Ashcroft and Garrick Jones will discuss the complexities of transforming an organisation in today’s interconnected and fast-paced world.

The business theme continues into the evening with the popular session called Startup Stories in which entrepreneurs talk about their own experiences of starting, growing and in some cases exiting a commercial venture.

Dr Adrian Burden, founder of the Festival, explains “These engaging sessions will be a fantastic way for entrepreneurs and business leaders to learn from others. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and chat with the speakers during the sessions so that you will go away with fresh ideas and insights to successfully improve the operations within your own organisation.”

The full programme will also include the popular Cyber Security day at the Malvern Theatres on Thursday 10 October; this year focusing on ways to secure SMEs. This will be followed in the evening by the Formal Dinner at Malvern College, in which David Page, the CEO of business mix, will speak about his thoughts on the power of collaboration and innovation in business.

The festival ends on Saturday 12 October with a ticketed family show at Malvern Theatres featuring BBC The One Show’s resident scientist Marty Jopson and a free hands-on exhibition about science and technology for all to enjoy.
