In March the Superfast Worcestershire Broadband Programme announced a major £3.7 million expansion that will enable over 3,000 more households and businesses to access superfast broadband for the first time.
Superfast Worcestershire is delighted to announce that the postcode checker on Worcestershire County Council’s website has been updated to include the additional premises that will benefit from this expansion. The postcode checker aims to cater for any potential future network re-engineering and Fibre to the Premises deployment.
Additional communities across all six districts in Worcestershire will benefit from the expansion. Work will begin in Autumn 2017 and complete around December 2018. It is being funded by a combination of efficiencies and BT investing new funds as well as some reinvestment of earlier funding under the terms of a ‘Gainshare’ mechanism in the contract, triggered by strong take up of fibre broadband.
