Horticultural and Agri-tech businesses are invited to a one-off event to help grow their business and future workforce.
The ‘Grow Your Business’ event, which will be held on 4 June 2015, 4pm – 5:30pm at Pershore College, will be an opportunity for businesses in these sectors find out more about how the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Pershore College and Worcestershire Apprenticeships are working together in supporting the industry to employ and train new talent.
Presentations will be provided about skills in Worcestershire as well as details on the grants available to aid businesses recruitment, Apprenticeship experiences of British Growers working with the supermarket supply chains and how Pershore College can support local business recruitment needs.
Places must be booked in advance and attendees will also be given the opportunity to view the developments at Pershore College. This includes some exciting developments for example, with the Vale of Evesham having recently been named one of 11 Food Enterprise Zones (FEZ) nationally that will help extend the current Vale Business Park and will include a partnership with Pershore College to develop ‘field to fork’ educational courses.
Gary Woodman, Executive Director at the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “The Grow Your Business event is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to learn about how they can utilise the skills of Worcestershire’s apprentices.
“The Worcestershire LEP is committed to developing both the skills of the local workforce and the horticultural and Agri-Tech sector as one of the County’s priority growth sectors. I would encourage all local businesses from this sector to register for the event as there will be a wealth of knowledge and advice available to aid business recruitment needs.”
