Christmas Message from Mark Stansfeld, Chair of the Worcestershire LEP
(first published in Worcester News on 18 December 2015)
December is a natural time for us all to take stock of the year’s achievements and prepare to build success in the New Year.
The Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership’s 2015 Annual Conference in November and our newly released Annual Report show the many achievements from 2015. Clearly success has been possible by working together with one plan and one vision across the public, private and third sectors. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the many successes over the last year – it only works if it all works. If you haven’t yet seen the Annual Report, it can be downloaded from our website or hard copies supplied on request.
The Annual Conference and Report also provided the opportunity to outline and review future plans including how everyone can be more involved in the work of the partnership and I would encourage businesses to do so in the year ahead.
Looking forward to 2016, we remain ambitious to achieve more by working together across the County but also Worcestershire has a key part to play in the Midlands Engine which brings together all 11 LEP areas across the region. The Midlands Engine is good news for the economy of Worcestershire and the wider area – business has no boundaries and this collaboration will increase productivity and support business growth and job creation.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the County’s businesses on their many successes and thank all partner organisations for their support in the last year. Please continue to publicise your achievements in the year ahead as together we continue to raise the profile of Worcestershire to secure further investment in the years to come.
Have a happy Christmas and we look forward to a prosperous 2016.
