Over 80 businesses were in attendance for the latest Worcestershire Innovation (WINN) Wednesday event.

The session, entitled ‘Q = VA Filling the Well’, was held at the University of Worcester Arena on 8 February.

A number of high profile leaders from local businesses were on hand to explore the mindset of innovation and the connection between physical and mental wellbeing. Speakers included, Craig Trafford – Personal Energetics & Success Coach, Sam Smith – Former Professional Rugby Star, now owner of Waylands Yard and Brian Philpotts – British Cycling Elite Coach and Personal Trainer.

WINN is a Worcestershire Innovation Programme formed by Worcestershire County Council and the Worcestershire LEP. It brings innovators together, acting as a catalyst to create connections and collaborations across the diverse business landscape of Worcestershire. They aim to foster a vibrant innovation culture through their WINN Wednesday flagship events and programmes that celebrate Worcestershire’s historical business successes and lay the groundwork for future job creation and economic growth.

The next two WINN Wednesdays will take place on 5 April and 7 June at the University of Worcester Arena between 5:00pm and 8:30pm.

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Innovation is a hugely important part of helping businesses to expand and it is great to see the local community taking such an interest in these WINN events.”

“WINN Wednesdays continue to be an ideal opportunity for innovative businesses to network with one another and with experts who have used innovation and creativity to grow their own success. I would urge local businesses to find out more about how about how they can innovate by visiting the WINN website, www.winn-hub.com.”

Cllr Dr Ken Pollock, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Worcestershire benefits from having many creative businesses and WINN Wednesdays are a great reflection on this innovative community. I am pleased to see that more high profile speakers continue to offer their time and expertise to this community and I would encourage local businesses to register their place for the next event on 5 April.”
