When new broadband structures go live, the Superfast Worcestershire team like to shout it from the rooftop so that as many as people as possible can order a service from their choice of providers. However, if individuals haven’t registered with the team, followed them on Facebook or Twitter or regularly kept an eye on our updates, we might not be able to connect and share the great news. Businesses and residents are being encouraged to check their status with the Superfast Worcestershire team in case their status has changed. There can be many reasons to check your status and this can be down to haven’t been able to connect a record to a particular structure, or are in an area where they have carried out an FTTP (fibre to the premise) intervention.
The best way to see if you have a live service is to use BT’s speed checker here. To use the checker, either enter a BT telephone number (including area code) or your address (you need to click the link below the number box.) Superfast colleagues from the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Broadband project have put together a very handy ‘How to use the BT Line Checker‘ guide, which will help businesses and individuals to make sense of the DSL Checker results.
Individuals will need to upgrade to a superfast broadband package through their chosen ISP to take advantage of infrastructure upgrades that have been made available.

Businesses can also consider the Gigabit Voucher scheme , which can be used by SMEs and the local communities surrounding them to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit-capable connection. Businesses can claim up to £2,500 against the cost of connection either individually or as part of a group project. Residents can benefit from the scheme with a voucher worth £500 as part of a group project.
