New Podcast series launched on Green Energy and Sustainability

In response to COP26 starting on 1 November, the Worcestershire LEP and local partners are producing a new podcast series about the work taking place to lead Worcestershire to reach energy strategy targets.

The UK Net Zero Carbon Tour Bus visited Worcestershire on Monday 20 September as part of it’s tour across the country in the lead up to COP26 in Glasgow on 1st November until 12th November. The event marked the start of the ‘Alex in the Green Room’ podcast featuring the Worcestershire LEP’s Energy Project Lead, Alex Pearson.

On each podcast episode Alex and his guests discuss a different Net Zero theme linked to work that is taking place within Worcestershire. The new podcast series from the Worcestershire LEP marks one form of sustainability content from the Worcestershire Growth Hub and the Worcestershire LEP leading up to COP26.

As well as the podcast series, local businesses in the county can access a number of clean growth grants available to help to them to become greener and cut costs. Something as simple as changing to LED lighting can help businesses make energy savings on their utility bills. This simple switch also helps to lower Carbon Emissions.

Over the last four years, Worcestershire County Council and its partners have supported around 800 businesses and provided over £3.3million worth of funding to help them become greener.

Local businesses interested in assessing these support grants are encouraged to speak with the Worcestershire Growth Hub team on the details below.
