Worcestershire’s rural businesses are being made aware of two new opportunities to expand and innovate within their business.
The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy alongside UK Research and Innovation are running a expert independent review into technology being used by businesses and how this can be further utilised.
The ‘Yagro Tech Check’ is completed through an online survey about the technology needs and uses of rural organisations. Businesses will then receive a prioritised set of actions most likely to have the biggest impact on their efficiency, and access to experts to support them in implementing these changes.
More information on the Yagro Tech Check is available on their website here, including a step by step guide of how to get involved.
The second opportunity for rural businesses is the Rural Start-Up Fund, from Forest Holidays & the Prince’s Countryside.
The fund aims to support sustainable rural economies. A total of £5,000 is available in the Start-Up Fund in 2020, to be awarded to one winning business or shared between a number of startups.
Individuals looking to benefit from the fund must be able to demonstrate how their business will, in some manner, support rural communities, promote conservation of the countryside, or support rural sustainability.
