Nominees Announced for Wonderful Worcestershire Women Awards

Over one hundred Worcestershire women attended the Wonderful Worcestershire Women Awards launch last month.

The sell-out event announcing the Award nominees, held at Browns at the Quay in Worcester, was the culmination of a six-week nomination period where 127 women were nominated for one of seven award categories.

72 women have made it through to the second round which involves an online public vote. The 5 individuals receiving the highest number of votes, from each category, will then enter the final judges round.

The Award winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held on Friday 29 April at Worcestershire County Cricket Club from 12pm, an event which the organisers expect to be another sell-out.

The Wonderful Worcestershire Women Awards are being spear-headed by Sarah Mayo-Evans, Director at Peach Recruitment and Julia Williams, Director at Premier Places.

Guests were inspired by speakers Natalie Heeley, Business Coach and Mentor, and Ashleigh Porter-Exley, from 3AAA, who won the BBC’s Young Apprentice of the Year in 2012.

Natalie Heeley said, “I have absolutely loved being involved. My path to success has seen me overcome many personal challenges and I’m passionate about helping other women be the best that they can. I love to see women being recognised for their efforts as many are juggling other responsibilities and commitments at the same time.”

Sarah Mayo-Evans, Director at Peach Recruitment said, “We are delighted to have met so many inspirational Worcestershire women this week – our community is full of amazing ladies!”

Julia Williams, Director at Premier Places said, “Voting is now open and we encourage everyone to visit our website and support the nominees.”

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership is proud to be a sponsor of the Wonderful Worcestershire Women Awards and is encouraging all businesses to vote at the earliest opportunity.
