Businesses are being invited to sponsor this year’s Redditch Tour Series, with a limited number of packages now remaining.
More than £400k was spent in Redditch last year by visitors and cyclist enthusiasts on accommodation, food and souvenirs from local shops. This year the event is expected to be bigger and better than ever and what makes it even more impressive is the fact that Redditch is the first location to kick the event off on Tuesday 9 May.
Kevin Dicks, Chief Executive of Redditch Borough Council, said: “As well as hosting this fantastic event once again, we are proud to be showcasing Redditch as a place to visit. The Tour Series will see thousands of visitors coming to the town to enjoy the race and we hope they also make the most of what our town has to offer while they’re here – be it a visit to Forge Mill Needle Museum, a bit of afternoon shopping in the Kingfisher Centre between races, or simply enjoying the countryside on their drive in.”
“This year is made even more special by the fact we are launching the Tour Series and so Redditch will be seen by 2.4 million viewers avidly watching the race on ITV4. We are more than proud to show off our place.”
Clare Marchant, Chief Executive of Worcestershire County Council said: “I am thrilled that Redditch is once again hosting the ever popular Tour Series. I know from personal experience the atmosphere at the event is amazing, making it such a great event for the local economy and local business owners.
“These events are just one way that we are looking to push the message that Worcestershire is World Class and very much open for business.”
This year the event will start at 1pm with celebrations and activities for all of the family. The men’s trial then starts at 2:45pm with the women’s trial starting a little later at 5:30pm.
With over 15,000 visitors to Redditch last year, local businesses have the chance to sponsor the event in 2017 with a variety of packages available for all budgets. For more information download the event sponsorship pdf.
