Organisations and Partners gather for Worcestershire’s World Class Investment Opportunities

Over 70 organisations and partners attended a World Class Worcestershire Inward Investment Workshop to explore ways to collectively support further investment and business growth into the county.

Attendees were provided with an overview of the inward investment service which is being led by Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership alongside both public and private sectors and Worcestershire Business Central.

The Inward Investment Managers, Steve Butterworth and Sharon Rai provided the delegation with an overview of the service, which is delivered countywide and in partnership with the County Council and District Councils. The duo launched a Soft Landing Offer which is designed as a Red-Carpet service, offered free of charge for investors and businesses moving into Worcestershire.

Investment opportunities discussed during the event included;

  • Redditch Eastern Gateway – a 100,000sq.m employment site just a 20 minute drive to Birmingham International Airport
  • Malvern Hills Science Park – an existing site with an internationally recognised cyber cluster
  • South Kidderminster Enterprise Park, with 80,000sq.m of employment development and new housing.

Speakers at the event included Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Mike Ashton, Chief Executive Officer of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce who both gave an insight into the current investment trends in Worcestershire. In addition, delegates were informed of the successful Trade Mission to Maryland, USA that took place during 2016.
