Pinvin and Churchfields schemes pick up pace

Work is well underway on two Growth Deal improvement schemes in the county and both are progressing well.

So far, the works to improve traffic flow at Pinvin Junction have focused on the installation of the new slip road and allowing for the rerouting of utilities including Severn Trent Water and Openreach. The next phase of the works will involve carriageway widening of the A44.

To allow the next phase of works to take place, temporary traffic lights are now in place on the junction to allow for works on the A44.

Works to improve transport links in the Churchfields area of Kiddermisnter have, so far, focused on clearing the land on the former CMS site and a range of utility diversion works around the new entrances to the link road off the roundabout to Churchfields. The next phase of works will see part of Churchfields turned into an A-road and the reconfiguration of the Horsefair.

To allow these works to progress full road closures, in both areas, are now in place.

Works will include full reconstruction of the highway and footways and the installation of new drainage. Utility companies will also make use of the closures to undertake further work in order to minimise disruption. During these closures, diversions will be in place.
