Worcestershire businesses found out about the new recruitment support and funding available at the first in a new series of events designed to help them recruit and retain talent.
Recruiting and retaining talent continues to be one of the main challenges facing businesses at a local and national level.
To support Worcestershire businesses, the Worcestershire Growth Hub working in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, is delivering the ‘Create Your Future Workforce’ event series focused on recruitment and retention to help local businesses utilise the support available to overcome their talent challenges.
The first event, ‘Create Your Future Workforce: Understanding the Talent Challenge’, was themed on Recruitment support and delivered on Wednesday 23 September.
Attendees heard from an expert panel of speakers, including Worcestershire County Council, Hewett Recruitment, Department for Work and Pensions and The HR Hero. After this there were updates on the wide array of support schemes and funds tailored to help Worcestershire businesses attract the right talent, streamline hiring processes, and build long-term employee loyalty.
At the event, the Worcestershire Growth Hub and Worcestershire County Council launched a new support device for businesses, a brochure ‘Youth Gurantee – The offer for Employers’. The new brochure brings together all the national recruitment incentives into one place, to simplify the landscape for employers, with information on the new apprentice incentives, the Youth Jobs Grant and Jobs Gurantee Grant.

Following the success of the recruitment event, the next event in the Create Your Future Workforce series, will be launched soon, focusing on helping employers to retain their staff, showcasing the various support schemes available.
Details of the retention event will shared shortly, but interested organisations are encouraged to engage with the Growth Hub team to ensure they receive the details of the event.
