Businesses are being invited to attend Warwickshire College Group’s (WCG) inaugural public lecture from 5pm on Monday 13 March 2017.
The lecture will form part of the WCG lecture series that further enhances the college’s higher education provision, presenting the opportunity for wider scholarly activity and engagement with the community and college stakeholders.
The first lecturer for the series will be Martin Parr who is a respected academic and professor of photography. Martin, one of Britain’s most important and best loved photographers, will be giving a lecture entitled ‘Photobiography’.
Martin is a British documentary photographer and photo journalist. His projects take an intimate and satirical view of everyday life, documenting the mundane to create a social commentary that is fascinating and unique.
Martin has published over 90 books of his own work and edited another 37 and has featured in around 85 exhibitions worldwide – including the recent curated exhibition, Strange and Familiar, at the Barbican in London. He recently received a prestigious Royal Academy Award presented for his contribution to the Arts, nominated by Grayson Perry.
The lecture will be held in the School of Art at Royal Leamington Spa College. A drinks reception will be held from 5pm and the lecture will commence at 5:30pm at the Art Studio 163, located in the Art School first floor.
Tickets for the event cost £5. For further information and to register for the event, visit the Warwickshire College Group website.
