Statement from Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, following the Autumn Statement 2016

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership is working to build a connected, creative, dynamic economy that delivers increased prosperity for the County. We therefore welcome the additional investment which has been announced to support innovation and infrastructure in the UK which includes significant national investment in fibre Broadband and 5G.”

“We also welcome the confirmation that the full £1.8bn of Local Growth Fund monies will be allocated to Local Enterprise Partnerships and in Worcestershire we are already seeing benefits from the schemes which have been supported to date.”

“The additional support for export, investment into venture capital funds to support growing companies as well as rural rate relief is further good news, and we now need to further understand the implications of today’s announcements for the County’s economy and our businesses.”
