The WLEP has set out its strategic ambitions to consolidate business growth and create jobs in Worcestershire over the next 20 years and has submitted its Draft Strategic Economic Plan to Government.
The WLEP does not have a monopoly on innovative ideas and solutions and is now inviting people to put forward creative ideas and suggestions which can illustrate and steer collaborative development work during 2014.
The WLEP is asking its wider networks and partners across the County to put forward high level propositions or strategic initiatives that will help the WLEP identify themed or packaged approaches in the future. The 10 January deadline is tight, given the Government-driven pace of the process, but at this stage we simply want to gather together an understanding of the initiatives and proposals that people are working on with others and which fulfil the WLEP’s vision and objectives.
This initial stage will help scope out potential pipelines and future collaborations, commissioning work or future calls for specifically themed projects. It will inform the shape of future delivery programmes and projects that will effectively deliver the Strategic Economic Plan. Some of the aspirations will meet European Funding opportunities and others may align with separate Government funding programmes or support the WLEP negotiations with Government for a Growth deal in 2014. As ever we are looking for proposals which identify sound local commitments and match resources to help justify any form of future funding bid to the EU or UK Government.
Please see further information and guidelines attached.
