UK Net Zero Tour Bus leads two events for Worcestershire

The UK Net Zero Carbon Tour Bus visited Worcestershire on Monday 20th September as part of its tour across the country in the lead up to COP26.

Planet Mark’s fully electric powered carbon battle bus is visiting 30 towns and cities across the UK and will finish its journey in Glasgow, the venue of the COP26 meeting in November. This is the 26th UN Climate Change Conference bringing together world leaders to discuss and agree on how to tackle climate change.

The Tour was brought to the County with the bus stationed at the University of Worcester Arena and later the St John’s Campus.

The Worcestershire LEP worked closely with the Worcestershire Growth Hub, University of Worcester, and Worcestershire County Council to help deliver two events on the theme of sustainability and Net Zero.

The Worcestershire Growth Hub team successfully held a Net Zero Business Breakfast event to outline the support available to help businesses make sustainability changes.

With over 50 businesses in the room, the event provided an opportunity to hear from expert speakers on the issue of global warming, why we need to make sustainability improvements and also what support there is to help businesses make those changes.

This event marks the start of a series of sustainability content from the Worcestershire Growth Hub and Worcestershire LEP which will lead up to COP26, highlighting key topics, issues and case studies from across the county. More information on this new series of content will be available on the LEP website over the coming weeks.

For those businesses unable to attend, or those looking for support around making sustainability changes, please contact the Growth Hub team on their website here. –
