Vacancy – Growth Plan Project Manager

Worcestershire LEP has a vacancy for a Growth Plan Project Manager.

The Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership is a Central Government backed, partnership of local businesses, local authorities, trade organisations and the voluntary sector across the county.

Its task is to develop the best business environment for Worcestershire, encourage inward investments, stimulate the local economy, identify appropriate projects for funding and promote Worcestershire as an exceptional place to work, live and prosper, thereby creating more and better employment opportunities.  In that regard it has recently been awarded substantial funding from Government against the delivery of a programme of key projects set out in its dynamic Strategic Economic Plan

We now have a requirement for a Project Manager to lead on the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Growth Deal and European Structural and investment Funds Strategy on behalf of the LEP.    This position is on a fixed term contract until the end of August 2015. Working closely with the Executive Director, key responsibilities will include developing and managing effective project and performance management to ensure successful delivery of programmes, the generation of concepts and ideas in response to national or local programmes and opportunities and to deputise for the Executive Director when appropriate.  The jobholder will also have responsibility for the line management of a small team.

You should be educated to degree standard and have extensive proven experience of working in similar project management/economic development environments.   Excellent communication skills are required as is the ability to engage with high profile partners and stakeholders.  You should be able to demonstrate an innovative approach and an extremely strong knowledge of business issues, economic development and regeneration.
