“Welcome to the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership December newsletter, I’m wishing all our readers a Merry Christmas and we’ve got a bumper edition for you in this period.
Lots of things have been going on since the last newsletter, we completed Green Skills Week work in our schools, lots of virtual delivery but fantastic to see lots of companies involved and I’m really pleased to see that went well last week.
And we also move on with a number of things that have happened and been delivered, so the Growth Hub took a number of our companies to the Manufacturing Technology Centre, great to see many businesses thinking about innovating and certainly encouraging any companies out there that are looking at innovation to get in touch with the Growth Hub about the support that’s available.
Also we’ve seen a Getting Building Fund project and a Local Growth Fund project developed, so two capital projects, Kidderminster Station now officially launched and also Hoobrook Island up in the Wyre Forest delivered and completed, so fantastic news that those projects are now complete.
It was also great to see the North Worcestershire business awards get off with a really successful evening and the publication of the Chamber of Commerce’s Salary and Benefits survey, a really useful tool for many businesses out there when considering either pay rises or working conditions for their employees at this time of year.
What I’d also like to say is we’re updating our Local Skills Report and there’s a survey for manufacturing companies, but also if any company wants to talk to us about their workforce planning, the specialist advisers at the Growth Hub are coming on stream and therefore you can have that conversation, so encourage you to go to the Growth Hub for the survey and for conversations about workforce and anything related to planning or apprentices.
Also for those businesses who import or export, there is a change to the rules on the 1st January 2022, go to the Growth Hub website where those rules can be found, but there’s added paperwork in relation to that and we’re really encouraging businesses to get in front of that, making sure they’re prepared, obviously the Chamber for your export docs is the place to go, so if you need more information, either go to the Growth Hub or the Chamber of Commerce website.
So, those are some of the highlights from this bumper edition, like I said, wishing all our readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, looking forward to seeing you in 2022.”
