What were the key business updates from June?
“June and July has been a really successful couple of months for us, the new Inward Investment site has launched and looks fantastic and obviously we will build and add content to that. Congratulations to Kidderminster which has been announced as part of the future high street fund. All of our local towns bid, and it was a really competitive national fund, so it’s good to have a winner in Worcestershire. The flood alleviation project, as part of our local growth fund, opened at Upton. A strange story to announce in this part of the summer but I’m sure it will be tested in the winter months. Finally, the end of term Careers Hub event, where we had all the careers advisers together to celebrate the really great progress on our schools and business relationships, and we look forward to the new academic year in September with the Apprenticeship Show and then results period – an opportunity whether you finished your A levels or GCSEs to look at the local options to gain training or work experience with local employers.”
What is the latest update from the Worcestershire Brand?
“The Worcestershire Brand continues to grow and grow. We have people signing up and we have events in Redditch and Malvern, you can visit the website at www.oneworcestershire.com to get more information. Signing up is free, please do that and we are well on our way to our target of 1000 people signed up.”
What developments do businesses have to look forward to?
“Over summer, this is a period where there are lots of holidays, but what we do know is that business continues to grow. We are seeing some really positive stories with a new investor into Worcester Six and hopefully some announcements in the Redditch area as well.”
