Video Update from Worcestershire LEP Chief Executive, Gary Woodman: June 2020

Video Transcript

“Hello and welcome to June’s Worcestershire LEP newsletter. We’ve been doing loads of work in terms of restarts here in the office, I’m sure many other businesses now who are gradually coming back to work with the new safer guidelines. Obviously if any business do need any advice, information or guidance, I encourage you to go to Worcestershire Business Central.

This month has been a good month, we’ve literally today had the announcement that we’ve been successful in our Careers & Enterprise Company bid to work with all our middle schools in Worcestershire. That means we are working with over 60 educational establishments come September to work on their careers information and guidance to the young people of Worcestershire, giving them the opportunities that are available here in the county to grow and advance their careers.

We’ve also seen the completion of a number of Local Growth Fund projects. Kidderminster Station is now completed and open, and looks very smart set back against the Severn Valley Railway which is opening on the 1 August. So our tourism sector is also starting to benefit with people can now arrive by train and hopefully by August go on the Severn Valley Railway.

Finally with our BetaDen showcase complete for cohort 2 and cohort 3 already up and running, if you are interested in applying for cohort 4, watch this space in the autumn. But for now there is also the Malvern Science in the Park event which is going virtual this weekend and I’d certainly encourage you to pop along virtually and enjoy all the activities for you and the family.

And therefore enjoy our newsletter.”
