Video Update from Worcestershire LEP Chief Executive, Gary Woodman: March 2021

Video Transcript

” Hello and Welcome to the Worcestershire LEP March Newsletter. I’m Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of the Worcestershire LEP. It’s been a busy month already with National Careers Week, it has been fantastic in terms of the videos that we did with employers, educators and young people, really bringing that Careers Message to life. Also the LEP team were really proud to support International Women’s Day.

As we move on, what we see is this week is the BetaDen Cohort 3 showcase on Thursday, you’ve still got an opportunity to register if you go to the BetaDen website and you can register there. Have a look at Cohort 3, they’ve been a virtual cohort and we are really proud of the work they’ve done and what has come out of cohort 3.

In terms of COVID, this month we have seen the schools go back and we have seen a bit more activity in terms of people returning to the offices a little bit, but businesses can book a free Lateral Flow Test, just follow the link within the article in this newsletter to the .GOV.uk website. You can book your test either physically to a testing site or have it delivered to your home premises.

In other things, we are still going through the Specialist Advisers programme, so plenty of businesses have taken it up and if you are interested in taking it up, I’d encourage you to speak with Worcestershire Business Central for all the latest advice and EU transition support that is still out there and available.

And with the Getting Building Fund, fantastic progress with the Burcot Lane site as demolition has begun in Bromsgrove, fantastic news and working with our partners to see that site starting to come forward.

So really busy, we look forward now to the sun shining, Easter and perhaps everyone getting ready for that date of the 12th April, when the roadmap goes into stage 2. But until then we still keep working hard to support our local businesses and working with you.”
