Video Update from Worcestershire LEP Chief Executive, Gary Woodman: May 2019

Video Transcript:

What are some of Worcestershire’s recent successes?

Gary – “Welcome to the May Worcestershire LEP newsletter. We’ve got lots going on, it’s the Young Enterprise finals this evening, where we have 9 teams that are coming together to go forward to the regional finals and then hopefully the national finals. We’ve had some really good news around the Queens Awards in terms of 3 companies in Worcestershire that have won – Thorlux Lighting, JMDA ltd and Seada Technology winning awards. A real highlight this month is the Worcestershire brand launch of the Worcestershire 1000 ambassadors that we are looking to recruit to promote the county. There is an opportunity to go onto the website, www.oneworcestershire.com and register your details. There you can access lots of marketing material that you can use yourselves but also you’ll hear updates about events and news about how we are promoting Worcestershire as a great place to do business.”

What do Worcestershire businesses have to look forward to?

Gary – “Looking forward in terms of May, we have the end of cohort showcase for BetaDen. That’s going to be a fantastic night and a great opportunity to see the cohort members and the work that they have done.”

Why should businesses attend the LEP’s Local Industrial Strategy workshops?

Gary – “For our Local Industrial Strategy, we start our business workshops this month with Circle2Success. You can still register on our website through enquiries@wlep.co.uk. If you would like to come along, its on the 21 May at Three Counties Showground, in the morning. Hopefully see you there!”
