Hello and welcome to the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership October 2024 newsletter. We’re here from the Life Beyond School event and today we’ve held the first INclusive Worcestershire Leaders event where we got businesses together. We’ve signed up 28 new businesses who show best practice in their inclusive employment practices. And it’s an opportunity if you think you’re an inclusive employer, to join that, just get in touch with the team at the Growth Hub to have a conversation.
The Life Beyond School event is fantastic because it really shows opportunities for, young people who are in our, education system that actually they do have, a future career across a range of sectors. And that’s fantastic in terms of showing those opportunities.
Back in September, we held 80 business of our business leaders together. We had good conversations about the state of the economy and the anticipation of the budget that’s coming up on the 30 of October, but also looking at AI and its adoption within businesses. It’s things that will then bring to, the wider business community in terms of watch this space about workshops and things that we bring together in 2025.
We’ve also, the grant scheme that we’re promoting at the moment is the Skills Boost grant, where you can get 50% of your training support, I’d encourage any businesses locally in Worcestershire to look at their training, look at their training needs assessment, and have that conversation with the Growth Hub team. As we go forward into November, the Growth Hub team are running a number of HR conferences. As we see that there are proposed changes to the HR law. And this is how you can get updated and you can, find out what changes the changes to legislation mean and what they mean to your business practices.
