Hello and welcome to the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership September 2026 newsletter.
There’s been loads going on across the functions that the LEP delivers here in Worcestershire. So if we start with a few of those, in terms of the finalists for the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards in November, that annual event, those finalists have been announced. So have a look again. A cast of people who’ve done amazing things in their workplace, or training providers or employers that really bring that event to life. So that’s really good news. Looking forward to that event in November.
Also, the Growth Hub team are doing lots around workshops and professional business advisers, so getting that free advice across a range of functions of your business. Contact the team for more information, or have a look on the Growth Hub website and you can find more about the program. It’s an opportunity to get that professional advice into your business free of charge.
Also Catalyse, the angel network, that’s starting to establish itself. It’s got another pitching event that’s happened over the last couple of days. Again, we wait to see the findings, but very successful around founders pitching their ideas to investors. And if you want to know more as an investor, we’re running an investor masterclass in October. Have a look on the website or contact the team about getting involved if you’re interested in investing in local businesses. Doesn’t have to be large amounts of money, just going to be looking at those kind of founder opportunities and how you think that they’re investable and could bring a return.
In WorkWell news. Our team are partnering with the NHS on the 7th of October to do a workshop about how you can bring the culture of your company so employer and employees can have that discussion about their health and wellbeing in the workplace. Again, have a look at the website and you can engage in that masterclass and get those hints and tips for your business.
The other thing we get is feedback about we need to start younger in the schools and talking to them about entrepreneurship and good news. The Primary STEM challenge is back obviously in terms of last year, we had to do a north and south final. I suspect we’ll be doing that again this time because lots of primary schools are engaged and involved, and the team work together in the primary school to get two finalists who come forward to the finals. And I’m really looking forward to that event because it’s a real cracker in terms of our young people engaging in science, technology, engineering, maths, at an early age.
Visit Worcestershire, through the month of October are running Taste Worcestershire. Go to the Visit Worcestershire website. You can download your Golden ticket vouchers. There is also a list of the hospitality businesses that are taking part, and you can go out and support our local hospitality sector all during the month of October. To celebrate local food and drink in our county.
Lots going on as you can see, lots of things happening. Have a look at the newsletter on the websites of the Local Enterprise partnership, The Growth Hub, or Visit Worcestershire, or just give the team a ring at the Growth Hub and you can find out more.
