Virtual Conference 2020 – Espresso Updates Digital & Physical Infrastructure

Espresso Update for the Worcestershire LEP Virtual Conference 2020 on the theme of Digital & Physical Infrastructure

Video Transcript

” Welcome to this Espresso update from the Worcestershire LEP Virtual Conference. We’ve had some great feedback so far from the Skills, Training and Employment and Healthy Worcestershire sessions.

Today we focus on infrastructure where we’ve got Ian Baxter and Lord Faulkner talking about Worcestershire Parkway and the wider Worcestershire Rail Strategy really focuses on Rail as one of our future transport options. Brian Simpson of Marshalls of Evesham and Rachel Hill from the County Council about the huge amount of road investment that we’ve had over the past 5 years but equally how we’re resolving those congestion hotspots. Ste Ashton and Andy Mckenzie are here from the Worcestershire 5G team busting some of those myths around 5G but also how it is contributing productivity and new technology. And when we are looking at new technology, key sites like the Malvern Hills Science Park, Chris Walker the chair and representative from QinetiQ gives us a feel for the future of Worcestershire and future of that site and why it’s so important in the regional and national context. Finally we are going to Dave Throup who will talk to us about a long problem that has affected Worcestershire, which is the flooding, the alleviation projects we’ve put in place and also how that impacts the economy and some of the opportunities around that will be discussed later in the week.

I look forward to getting your feedback, take participate in the polls and there is still time to register for this session.”
