Worcester company offers solution to new contact tracing law

From Friday 18 September, licensed premises and venues across the UK are required by law to have a system in place to record contact details of customers, visitors and staff. With many venues still using pen and paper to keep records, a Worcester-based company is providing a more effective solution.

RotaHub, the UK’s first total workforce management company, has developed TexTbar which enables users to text their details to a venue exclusive number. Their name, date of entry, time, telephone number and name are securely collated and filed with NHS Test and Trace, if requested. The venue also has a live dashboard which displays the first name of the guest to confirm that their details have been securely recorded.

Sean Harris, RotaHub’s Operations Director says ‘ Venue owners can be fined for non-compliance with this new law so it’s important that the data is recorded correctly. TexTbar is available at very low cost, can be used on any device and is completely GDPR compliant. 80% of customers can text for free as part of their contracts, all they have to do is text when they enter and when they leave. This frees up staff time so they have more capacity to serve customers and ensure the venue is COVID-secure. It’s crucial that we all work together to try and stop the onward spread of the virus’

RotaHub specialises in digital solutions which enable companies to use their own equipment and resources to improve their efficiency. The company recently won the SME News UK Enterprise Awards ‘Most Innovative Digital Workforce Management Solutions’ award for two of its most popular digital products.
