Worcestershire 5G Consortium shortlisted for the World Communication Awards

The Worcestershire 5G Consortium have been shortlisted for the World Communication Awards’ ‘5G Leadership Award’

Worcestershire 5G Consortium has been shortlisted in the ‘5G Leadership Award’ and the winners will be announced at the awards dinner at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, on the 31 October 2018.

For 20 years the World Communication Awards have recognised innovation and excellence for global telecoms, and continues to be the most revered mark of achievement in the telecom industry.

Organised by Total Telecom, the World Communication Awards are an annual programme that launches in March and runs for a full twelve months. This year’s event, the 20th anniversary of World Communication Awards, is set to be the biggest event yet.

The news arrives following a recent Taiwanese delegation visit, to gain an insight into the 5G trials and tests currently underway in Worcestershire. On the final day of the delegation, the consortium and delegates discussed the 5G applications’ potential for Worcestershire, the UK, Taiwan and the world.

Mark Stansfeld, Chair of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “We are delighted to hear that the Worcestershire 5G Consortium has been shortlisted for the World Communication Awards. This is fantastic evidence that our innovations in 5G are helping to lead the way on the international scale and we are looking forward to the ceremony.”
