Over 110 students from Wyre Forest School recently had the opportunity to meet over 21 representatives from a range of future destinations at their ‘Life Beyond School’ event.
The event allowed parents and students to discover the range of opportunities available to them post Key Stage 3, with Key Stage 4 & 5 students able to start planning for their next destinations.
Classes were provided with information before the event and spent time during lessons to create bespoke resources to help with engagement at the event.
Exhibitors at the Life Beyond School event included local colleges, specialist colleges, social day care providers, training & internship providers and advocacy groups. Parents were also invited to attend during the evening session between 3-6pm.
The event received very positive feedback and providers were impressed with the thoughtful questions and confidence displayed by the Wyre Forest Schools students. It was also observed that there was an increased level of engagement and enjoyment in contrast to the previous year’s event with one student even making her application to Kidderminster College with the help of the college staff at the event.
