Worcestershire companies selected in cyber security supplier to Government scheme

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership has welcomed the news that five Worcestershire businesses are recognised cyber security suppliers to HM Government.

Cyber Security, defence and IT is one of the top three key sectors within the County alongside Agri-tech and Advanced Manufacturing.

Worcestershire companies, based in Malvern, Kidderminster and Worcester, have all been successfully recognised as suppliers in cyber security services having successfully applied to the department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS):

  • Borwell Ltd (Malvern)
  • Deep-Secure Ltd (Malvern)
  • Encription Ltd (Kidderminster)
  • QinetiQ Ltd (Malvern)
  • Titania Ltd (Worcester).

As part of the Cyber Growth Partnership’s work to support the growth of the sector, at the industry’s request the Government has developed a scheme that enables their UK cyber security suppliers to be able to reference this fact publicly, for example when pursuing business overseas. BIS is administering the scheme as this is intended to support UK companies in increasing and pursuing export business opportunities worldwide in cyber security.

Peter Pawsey, Executive Chair of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Worcestershire is recognised for excellence in this field as cyber security, defence and IT is one of the top three industries within the County.  In addition the National Cyber Skills Centre is housed in Malvern.

“I am delighted that the Government has recognised these skills and chosen these companies as suppliers. I am sure these five Worcestershire businesses will do an excellent job in helping to protect the country’s digital information as well as achieving the objective of increasing exports from the UK.”
