Worcestershire firm secures distributor agreement part of MedilinkWM’s B2B service

The first formal success for MedilinkWM’s B2B Opportunities Service has been reached with Safer Options Ltd signing a Distributor Agreement with Sylatech Ltd for their Novel Personal Handheld tool called the KeepSafe

Worcestershire based firm, Safe Options Ltd, a UK manufacturer who source their components through UK companies and helps the NHS, Private Healthcare Provider, the MOD, Veterinary and Industry clients manage the safe and effective disposal of controlled drugs, has signed a Distributor Agreement.

They are now excited to announce that they have now added the KeepSafe to complement their existing product range.

With the world in the midst of a global pandemic, a team of engineers from Yorkshire based Sylatech stepped away from their usual projects towards a new challenge, creating a personal handheld tool called the KeepSafe, made in a copper-based alloy that limits your contact with potential contaminated surfaces when out and about.

Sylatech’s Investment Casting Process specialises in manufacturing thin-wall, lightweight components, delivering a lost-wax casting, custom engineering solution, within the AS9100 quality standard and prototype parts can be sampled and delivered within a matter of days. Through their RF/Microwave capability, Sylatech offers the custom design and manufacture of microwave sub-systems, assemblies and waveguide components.

MedilinkWM was introduced to Sylatech when the company answered the call from West Midlands Combined Authority’s (WMCA) who joined forces with local councils and business groups, including the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, to support the supply-demand for PPE during the initial height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To help life science and healthcare technology companies grow and to benefit from their investments and hard work in developing and providing solutions for COVID-19, Medilink West Midlands recently launched their ‘B2B Opportunities Service’. Sylatech took advantage of this latest service and posted an opportunity for a distributor of their ‘KeepSafe’ device.

The ‘KeepSafe’ helps to limit a person’s contact with potentially contaminated surfaces when out and about, as it allows the user to open and close doors and operate key pads etc. so that the user does not need to touch potentially contaminated surfaces with their hand or fingers. The MB1 copper alloy has antimicrobial properties and has been scientifically proven by the University of Southampton to kill the coronavirus within 10 minutes to provide that extra level of confidence. As it fits on your key ring its always with you when you’re out and about.

Charlie Breese, Managing Director, Sylatech Ltd commented, “Whilst launching the KeepSafe personal handheld device during the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak, Sylatech was delighted to have the opportunity to engage with Medilink’s Big Ask initiative.  This helped Sylatech established a distribution agreement of the KeepSafe with Safer Options, and with the science proving that the coronavirus is completely eliminated within 10 minutes on the KeepSafe, Safer Options were quick to recognise the potential of Sylatech’s handy device”.

Louise Cresswell, Managing Director, Safer Options Ltd said, “Safer Options Ltd is pleased to partner with Stylatech Ltd via the Big Ask B2B opportunity initiative.  The benefits of the copper alloy used in the KeepSafe, evidenced to control the spread of Covid-19, offers our customers a product which can help to protect their teams in everyday life. We’re pleased to have the opportunity to work with innovative, British manufacturers”.

Chris Dyke, Connectivity Manager at Medilink West Midlands was very pleased that the newly launched B2B Opportunities Service is proving successful and said, “It’s been great to help these two companies that have been supporting the health and care sector during Covid-19 crisis with this newly launched service. This new service has gained a lot of attention and allowed us to help businesses to engage with one another and develop new business relationships and also for companies to be able to see new business opportunities in these difficult times.
This is the first ‘B2B Opportunity’ that has formally formed a business agreement and we foresee this as the start of many more such agreements. Especially as we are now starting to get enquiries to use this service from overseas medical technology companies looking for UK partners, distributors and possible manufacturers”.
