Raising the profile of #WorldClassWorcs

The International spotlight was firmly on the County last week for the European Wheelchair Basketball Championship. Congratulations to Team GB – a fantastic achievement to qualify for the Paralympics in Rio next year and to see the women’s team secure the bronze and the men win the gold at Worcester Arena is truly fantastic.

We now look forward to other excellent fixtures at our sporting grounds and extraordinary events. These include the 10k run-bike-run (20 September), which will be attended by athletics star Jo Pavey, and the Aviva Tour Ride (4 October), the official sportive of the Tour of Britain with former World Champion Hugh Porter MBE taking part.

Please do make sure you know how your company can benefit from these high profile events as well as dedicated business events during #60DaysofSport. For example, your business could enter a team in the Tour Ride and compete for team prizes which is great for team building and could get your company some publicity whilst raising money for charity. Contact us via enquiries@wlep.co.uk to find out more about team entries and sponsorship opportunities or individuals can sign up today via www.tourride.co.uk

Sport really does help to raise the profile of the County as a destination as we continue to promote Worcestershire regionally, nationally and internationally as a world class place to do business. Next month we will once again be going to MIPIM UK – the UK’s largest exhibition and conference for property professionals.

MIPIM UK is a vital event to attract inward investment as it is a market place for UK players and international investors to meet, discuss projects and opportunities and do business. If your company is attending MIPIM UK – do get in touch with us so we can work together to promote Worcestershire and your business success in the County whilst in London.

Our local businesses are all part of World Class Worcestershire. Please do continue to publicise your achievements and I would encourage you all to consider how you can help raise the profile of the County in your daily work whilst also gaining profile for your business
