Happy New Year to you all. I hope you are all feeling energised for another successful year for local business. There are several opportunities currently available to make sure that your business has an award-winning start to 2018.
The Federation of Small Business’ ‘Celebrating Small Business Awards 2018’ closes today and if you haven’t already completed the application for your small business, I would recommend doing so before the end of today. Winners of the regional finals will progress to the national finals and provide a huge opportunity to profile for your business. For further information on entering the free awards, visit the Federation of Small Business website: www.fsbawards.co.uk
Last week the nominations opened for the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce’s Business Awards 2018. Entries opened on Friday 5 January and the popular awards ceremony will take place this year on Thursday 7 June. The awards are free for all businesses to enter and will provide a fantastic PR opportunity, a boost to staff morale and a great opportunity for networking. To enter the awards, visit the Chamber website www.hwchamber.co.uk and email your application to awards@hwchamber.co.uk
We are hoping that soon we will have an achievement for all local businesses to celebrate, after we submitted our bid to Government for the development of a 5G Test Bed in Worcestershire. I would like to thank all of the partners that have worked closely with us in the development of this bid, including the University of Surrey’s 5GIC academic research centre and founder member businesses QinetiQ, Worcester Bosch and Yamazaki Mazak. We are set to find out whether our proposed bid has been successful in April this year and I am very hopeful of a positive result, to better connect our county’s businesses.
