It is great to see that a number of Worcestershire businesses are being recognised at several high-profile business awards and there is a fantastic opportunity for tourism businesses to gain recognition at the Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence. There are ten categories and I would encourage local tourism businesses to enter at the earliest opportunity before the deadline of Friday 22 July with details available on our website at www.wlep.co.uk.
I would also encourage businesses to take the many opportunities to get involved across the County, for example, businesses have a real chance to shape innovation in Worcestershire. The recent Worcestershire Innovation (WINN) Wednesday was a brilliant event and I would now encourage all companies to complete the online WINN questionnaire and provide feedback on the business innovation environment, the support available and how you may want innovation to change going forward. Do take this opportunity to add your voice to the feedback before the 31 July deadline by completing the questionnaire at www.winn-hub.com where you will also find the dates for future sessions for your diary.
Finally, Worcestershire LEP is currently examining the opportunities around the field of robotics and its advantages for the workforce and business productivity. The LEP’s Business Board, which is chaired by Mark Martin, Owner and Director of One Creative Environments Ltd., would like to hear from existing robotics cluster companies and bring together a group to share knowledge and identify how the County’s robotics sector could grow further. If you would like to be part of this working group, please contact the team by calling 01905 672700 or emailing enquiries@wlep.co.uk and we look forward to working with you.
