Business awards are a fantastic way to raise the profile of your business as well as providing an enjoyable and memorable night for employees.
This was certainly the case last week at the University of Worcester Arena, when over 500 people celebrated the winners of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2016. Over 100 entries were received for the Awards and I would like to congratulate the local businesses that were nominated and won awards; and in particular Kingspan Insulation who scooped the Overall Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Sanlam. I hope to see many more Worcestershire companies at next year’s awards and I would encourage you to find out more about the many benefits of joining your local Chamber of Commerce at www.hwchamber.co.uk
There are now less than two weeks to apply for this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards before the deadline of 30 June 2016. There are some excellent apprenticeship placements locally and this is an opportunity for your company and apprentices to enter and receive recognition for the fantastic work you are doing. The awards ceremony will once again attract an audience of over 300 people on 17 November at West Midland Safari Park and entering is a simple process with all details available on www.worcsapprenticeships.org.uk.
Finally, I would encourage you to attend the Worcestershire Innovation (WINN) Wednesday event on 29 June. These events are designed to bring together networks of like-minded individuals, provide the right environment for ideas to flourish and ultimately support business growth and productivity by providing the opportunity to exploit technology and maximise the use of new ideas. The interactive session is aptly called ‘8 minutes 20 seconds to launch’ which reflects the time it takes for the sun’s light to reach the earth as attendee’s will be asked to shine a light on current activity, innovative networks and what is needed to bring these together to further promote innovation in the County. Do secure your place today with a link available from our website.
