Worcestershire LEP Chair, Mark Stansfeld 17 Sep:

This week I’d like to shine a spotlight on some work that the Worcestershire LEP have been working on, to help shape the future of the county.

Previously we have produced a document called the Strategic Economic Plan which helped lead our delivery work from 2010 to 2025. During this time, we were able to achieve numerous programmes and projects for the county including, Worcestershire Parkway Rail station, securing 2 Careers Hubs to help engage businesses with schools, and supported over 10,000 businesses through our Growth Hub.

We are coming towards the end of that document and workload, which presents an exciting opportunity to steer the work of the Local Enterprise Partnership.

The team have been tasked by Central Government with producing a localised Plan for Growth document. This outlines our vision for the future of Worcestershire and gives us a look towards 2040.

I have been really pleased to see this document being produced and working with our local partners to ensure that this new Plan for Growth document supports ambitions for the county.

I must stress that this document is crucial if you are a business or resident to understand what we are working towards and how these developments can help you and your business. I sat down with the team and together we have produced a video which reflects on our successes from the Strategic Economic Plan and covers what this new Plan for Growth actually means.

I would strongly encourage any readers to visit our website to watch this video, and also read the document. Visit our website to find out more. – www.wlep.co.uk/plan-for-growth

On our website you will also find the link to watch a video which shows support for our new Plan for Growth from key leaders across the county.

If you have any questions around this new plan and want to engage with the team, please contact us through our email address. – enquiries@wlep.co.uk
